This should be a simple volunteer opportunity, no training & complete on your time. Let's walk through details start to finish:
#1) If this is specifically for service hours required for high school graduation, honor society or other requirements; FIRST check with your school, counselor, club, scouting council or ultimate approval authority if this type of service activity can count towards your hours.
#2) Call around to your local: hospital recovery homes, after school programs, teen centers, church programs, shelters, social services and see if self-contained craft kits for kids in a clear plastic shoe box size would be helpful. If so, about how many are needed or how many would be helpful to have? Make sure you get the name of the person you are speaking with or who & where to deliver the box.
#3) Gather craft material: A) Maybe you/family/friends have the materials B) You can do a craft collection in your neighborhood/school/church/etc. (this certainly adds to the service hours: creating flyers/online posts, going around and collecting the materials & sorting) C) You can purchase pre-made crafts, please put a few in a box if they are small and for an individual and may be quick to complete (these don't require as much volunteer time, but may be welcome at large after school care programs talk to the director).

#4) Figure out crafts: A) Maybe you have a theme of something you are working on and want to share through this creative kit(s) for kids (towards a degree designation, for a specific honor society, a club, a scout badge/journey/project, a team building focus, etc.) B) Need ideas, search online: Pinterest too! C) Sort and gather your materials, you may need to purchase glue/sticky dots to keep the craft(s) simple. Remember to prepare/precut as much as possible to put in the kit (some pieces may need to be put into small baggies to keep together and from floating around in the box. D) Type instructions and include photo/image(all part of the volunteer time) of completed craft (remember kids: pre K - 8th grade may be completing on their own)

#5) Put it all together (& check this list):
___A) Instructions (print & place in box)
___B) Photo/Image (taped on outside of box & copy inside with instructions)
___C) Crafts sorted with groupings of materials (pre cut & to size)
___D) Print the HeARTfull Boxes note of encouragement (see link), the content label (see link 2) for the front of the box and the logo label for the lid top (see top logo link)
___E) Hand write the note of encouragement and tape inside the box lid
___F) Complete the label for contents and place craft image on the front of the box (clear tape is great)
___G) Cut & place "top logo" on the lid top and secure with clear tape (across the logo so edges don't come up)
___H) Secure the sides with clear tape (just a small piece so the lid doesn't pop off if you are carrying several)
___I) Take photos, post on your Instagram & link to Instagram.com/HeARTfullBoxesorg
___J) Print spreadsheet (see link3) of your itemized hours & have it initialed/signed by team member at delivery location *for your service hours be sure to correctly spell name and their email.

#6) Deliver: Call the location you are delivering to make sure someone will be there to receive it AND sign your spreadsheet of completion (see link 3)

#7) Post & Record: Post your photos on our site so people can share ideas and record for your high school records.
